Kuumba “creativity” in Motion
Who: Girls ages 3-22
What: T2A Sew So Dope is for girls interested in fashion, design and sewing. Girls tap into their "kuumba", which means creativity and turn recycled treasures into wearable masterpieces. Students receive hands on sewing instruction while learning the ropes of turning sewing into a sustainable career. Girls also engage in woodworking, upholstery design and build furniture from recycled materials. After weeks of sewing and practice, students strut their fashions in a runway fashion show!
Where: On -Site at Timbuk2 Academy
When: Typically, Sew So DOPE runs during the summer months, however, Timbuk2 Academy hosts workshops, and classes throughout the year.
Cost: Costs range from $300 -$500 depending on the age and skill level of student.
Financial Aid/Scholarships may be available.
